Bisket the cat put down

She died yesterday. Anybody here have experience with losing a pet? How long did it take to get over it?

Going to take some time. We have lost many in our family as my wife and kids have all had their share. All depends on how attached you were, I guess. We have gotten over some quickly and others take time. Toughest one was the dog we lost in our house fire. The was 7 years ago and we still talk about that dog every now and then.

Best advice I can give you is dont rush into getting another pet to replace the one you have lost. It wont just fill the void. We made that mistake once and wont make it again. Be sure you are ready should you decide to do so.

Keep your head up and put things in perspective. I am sure you were able to enjoy the cat while you had her. The sooner you focus on that, the quicker you will feel better.

Bisket, I have a cat as well and if and when she dies I will be so tore up. She is around 10 and is really big. I think that I will get another cat immediately. That would help me I think. Sorry to hear about the loss.

I just lost my dog on june 12.I first held him in hy hand when he was 3 days old.Me and my wife dont have any children so he was like our child .He lived to be almost 14 1/2 years old and had a great life.Thats the key just remebering him and all the good times. We have resisted the temptation of getting a new dog as he will be hard to replace, but I am sure in the future we will get another.Keep your head up and just remember the good times for a while.
