Bookmaker errors

Over a good deal of time I have spotted numerous errors with books.
Mostly wrong closing times.

In the last three years especially I have been emailing the books informing them of the errors.

Have had some good spinoffs :

*The Bookmakers who have replied, have become contacts for me.

*They have on a few occasions put money in my accounts as a token of their appreciation

*Satisfaction on helping them out

Yeah Dave, I reported a big error in a 2nd half line recently and they gave me a free $100 play and let me use the bad line for a winner.

Dave.....you should only notify the book after posting the error here in CM so that we can all get in on the action.

All we need is 10 mins or so.

wrong Skippy,

an obvious incorrect line will result in several outcomes,

the wager wins, you will either be awarded your winnings
(if its a small bet, think of this as cigarette companies handing out free cigarettes to teens, and get them hooked for life)...or if the incorrect line wins, you will have it cancelled

or

if the incorrect line actually loses anyway then they will honor bet, and you lose

so its a lose, lose........and lastly in the event that an incorrect line actually is honored, why would u post it in a forum?...and assuming this is a solid book, you deserve to be booted, bookmaking is honorable profession, especially when you dont copy cat lines and are a serious book

Is that what you think??? LOL

A while back, a book, which shall remain nameless, left their 3rd Q line open after the 2nd half kickoff. It was already mid 3rd quarter and there had been no scoring. I jumped on the 3rd Q UNDER.....I got paid.

Moral of this story is.....There is a big difference between PERCEPTION and REALITY.

I didn't outsmart anyone.
Its not like I was the one who kept the line open.
They made a mistake and I got my play in.
Just because you have never experienced it, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

I may be an idiot but I'm not stupid.
Of course I didn't lay $5 per play.
I play $1 per play and I did it 10 times.

I also played the UNDER on a 1st half line set at 660.5 in March Madness last year.

I got paid as well.

This is theft, plain and simple.

So what happens if the overs came in? Should the book refund the money?

Dave is correct,

Your best bet in this situation is to point out an obvious mistake to the book when you discover it.

They will not allow your bet (for the most part) anyways and most likely they will give you some type of compensation that you will get to keep

Some books may actually freeze your account until you call them and acknowledge the mistake.

i know some people who's accounts have been frozen, they even notified other australian books about him. So really you didn't beat the books, you just cheated.

FIRST POST, AND I GOT A STORY REGARDING THIS...

i used a shall remain nameless book that left up challenger tennis on the board. i capitalized on it and won over 900 dollars in their mistakes, so they graded them as wins, and then 2 days later after they approved the neteller withdrawls, i had it in my bank, but they sent me a message saying it was their mistake but they wanted their money back. so i now owe this book well over 900 dollars in winnings that they made a mistake on awarding me and made a mistake on awarding me the neteller withdrawl. so if you truly are telling the truth about your book awarding this to you, then awesome, ive had it happen a couple of times, but reading this story hopefully will make you think twice about thinking you actually have won free money.
