Broiled Crab Meltaways--Maryland Style

If it has crab and isn't Maryland crabmeat...it's not the real deal. Other crab works but is not nearly as good. If anybody is in need of Maryland crabmeat over the summer to truely taste these,then get my info and hit me up as I'll send some to you.


- Package of 6 English Muffins ( Thomas's is best). Slice each half into 4 pieces and arrange on 2 cookie sheets.

- Mix well in a mixer( or by hand)::

1/2 pound of Maryland lump crabmeat
1 stick margarine
7 ounce jar of Old English sharp cheddar chees
2 tablespoons mayonaise
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt


-Spread mixture on muffin pieces evenly

**** Freeze pieces a minimum of 30 minutes( overnight is better). Frozen pieces can be kept for weeks before use.

- Broil until puffed and slighty brown----Serve Hot




I am telling you...serve this stuff at a party and you will be a hit for life. At our superbowl parties these are gone instantly

There is a fishmarket I go; to I'll ask the guy if he gets Maryland Crab... otherwise I guess my regular King Crab is what I'll try it with...

Your best bet for MD. crabmeat is come this summer...If he says he has it now then it's frozen and old or he's lieing to you. I'm easy to get ahold of if need be. Near the end of summer is best time for MD. crabs by far.

It's better than waiting until the end of summer. Plus with all that butter, cheese, mayo; I could put anything in it and it'll taste good.

lol.....after what I went through I doubt it....I seriously thought I was gonna die....ear cannals and throat were closing up on me and I had to drive my self to the ER....funny thing is before that incident I ate shelfish my whole life...go figure...and to boot it was some stupid ass frozen shrimp bowl that I dug out of the back of the freezer
