I lived in Florida for 5 years and visited almost every beach there and have seen most of the USA. I expected to see a place that was comparable to FLA or maybe California --

Hawaii made Florida seem like a Motel 6 by comparsion
The more you see and do, the longer you are there, the better it gets

if you live on honolulu its overrated. I lived there for 5 years. Congested and repetitive after awhile. Not to mention the gangs out there are outta control.

exactly believe it or not there are several ghettos out there and its full of somoans or filipinos depending which area of the city you're in. I went to middle and high school there so I know how rough it can be. My high school was one of the roughest and had the most gang activities out of the whole city

i saw a lot of locals and many natives but never any gang stuff but that's probably because I stuck to the resort areas and the typical touristy stuff

are the gangs a problem in places besides oahu? very interesting to hear about this stuff

i learned what "stink eye" was when I was there, some ****ing drunk dude yelling "**** you haole" and shit like that, was interesting!

one thing i never got used to is if you look at the locals out there directly in the eyes its some kinda insult to them. We would get in fights bc we just looked at someone.
