This pulling the race card anytime things dont go your way is getting completely ridiculous. I bet MLK and slaves from hundreds of years ago are rolling over in their grave hearing Gumbel compare a group of guys avging 5 million/yr to slaves, just the furthest reach and line of bullshit Ive ever heard.

How have we gotten to the point where this is acceptable? People are friggen DYING financially in todays world and this clown pulls the race card cuz their pay may be cut from 5.5 million to 5.1 million/yr.

As a white man I used to be sympathetic to race issues but as time goes by Im realizing the race card is only pulled nowadays as a copout, excuse, or way to get your name in the paper. We voted a black man president for christs sake. Give it up, its hard being ANYONE in today's world, stop expecting sympathy cuz of your made up racism that doesnt exist.

Actually one group of people that definitely DONT have it tough right now are the NBA players, and hilariously coincidentally theyre the ones expecting sympathy!!! All they gotta do is sign the dotted line and here flows the millions. Yet were supposed to feel theyre being treated like slaves???? What a joke.

Sorry but someone has to say it. As a white man Im sick of clowns like Gumbel basically calling me a racist cuz their pay may be cut from 5.5 million to 5.1.

Blacks only use the race card. Becoming painstakingly obvious the last 5-10 years (especially in the part of the country I live)

God forbid a white defend his race though, that's a slight against EVERY other race.

Shut the **** up about slavery, no one on earth was alive during that period of time and can not relate to it in any way.

Shame that Gumbel used it the race card, as I respected him, but going racist on a situation such as this.... it's pathetic. He should lose his career for this. He certainly lost my respect forever.

This is a no win bad discussion to get in to on a forum. Unfortunately we will never be able to run from the sins of our fathers. I am white and slavery was wrong. I am in the south and it is still for the most part racially divided. But I say that is fine because how well can 2 different cultures really get along for long periods of time. I have never owned a person and don't know anyone who has. Let's just see people as people an treat them with respect.
