BUNTING TO BREAK A NO HITTER is a NONO?

In all the years, I did not know this was considered bush league.....The Angels bunted to break up Verlanders no hitter and people are pissed....I figure that's just part of the game...I guess if your up 5 runs late...maybe, but a 3 run game..you are still playing to win, right? Oh well....I wont lose any sleep.

Only in a blowout is it bush league. Close game your still trying to win and get guys on base.

Ya never heard of that until about 20 minutes ago. They act like they were blowing them out of the water and the game was over.

I guess I really dont even see how thats considered bush league......It just seems that the bunt is part of the game....Even in a blow out

Seems like they may be going off the basis that it seems like a simple, easy hit. But not everyone can pull a good bunt off, and some guys cant even bunt let alone leg it out

found the one i was thinking of...arizona vs. padres...schilling had a perfect game going into the 8th inning...ben davis reached safely on a drag bunt...was in 2001...was longer ago than i had thought

It was. Game was 1-0 and Brenly went nuts saying it was bush league. Idiot! The game was 1-0, did he expect the Pads to lay down.

its acceptable. in the pros the infield guys are acrobats. bare hand catch and throw. off balance. they know to. they make their move to the batter as he tries to bunt getting a few steps on the bunting runner. not a gimmie.
