Question Buying points

Do you do it?
Which sports?
What numbers?
What circumstance?

Any other thoughts about buying points?

Only half points in basketball or football (When it's 3.5 or 7.5 etc). I do it cause there seem to be so many losses by a half point or pushes, so i minimize that by buying a half.

I am not disagreeing - just trying to get an idea on why to help others who might be new at this? Is it mainly or only because the juice will obviously add up?

Let me ask you this Will. In this case aren't you paying more juice for basically of it landing exactly on 50 points? If you think about that - maybe it's not wise. Just thinking out loud of course. But 51 points you would still win. 49 points you would still lose so in reality you are paying extra juice just in case it lands exactly on 50.

In the NFL, I will buy a half point around the key numbers (3/7/10/14). In Baseketball, I ALWAYS buy the hook. One push saves you the juice you spend on 10 losses with the hook.

Question is would you rather have reduced juice or the hook?
Take into account all sports and the # usually (roughly 85%) the point spread has no bearing on the game. So it would seem reduced juice in the long run pays better then the hook. But different sports may have a different percentages. I read somewhere it only pays if 4.5% of the time the games land on the#. And it doesnt over a long sample. I for one do not buy the hook, but if you do, stick to it. Nothing would feel worse than changn your system, just when it would have payed off

EXACTLY!!! Some say it's moronic to do but I ALWAYS buy that hook cause i'd hate to lose by a half point Losing by a point is bad enough!!
In football, I ONLY do it around key numbers too 3/6/7/10/13/14/17

Exactly. I almost never buy points although I do sell them on occasion for a bigger payout.

Judge is a man that applies mathematics to the real world and knows this.

To each his own, but only roughly 4% of the time will paying the juice payoff, and in the long run you will see that the hook is what the books want you to buy
