Oddly, I am bothered by this. While same sex marriage is a subject that I have been tolerant of, for some reason I feel this is inappropriate. I guess my feeling is that conjugal visits for inmates are a benefit that few, if any, incarcerated criminals deserve which is backed up by the fact that they are allowed by only six states. When you throw in the homosexeual aspect, it for some reason crosses the line of moral sensability, at least in my mind. As the article mentioned, homosexuality in prison is already a touchy subject and this policy certainly has a tendency to condone the behavior.
The policy raises another question as well. If it is acceptable for an inmate to have homosexual sex during a conjugal visit, how can you say that it will not be allowed between inmates?
