Question Can anyone else here bust out the long ball?

Any other long golf hitters here?

I've been in a couple of long drive contests. Thought about taking it seriously at one stage, still might who knows.

What is your longest drive?

Will be competing here in Houston in the Remax later this month. Have been to regional level a few times. But can never seem to get the longest drive in the grid when I'm there (only 6 drives). Hoping for better results in the senior division now. Hit over 400 yds. when I was younger. Now about 340 is my best.

You should try it. Way different that your regular swing though. Have to widen your stance and really drive off you back leg. Good luck if you decide to give it a go.

LOL No shame there. All good drives happen with the wind at your back. I hit in a regional at Corpus one time and we were hitting into the wind and 285 won it. Even with a 7 degree driver you can't keep under that wind.

Thing with me is, about 10 years ago was when was at my longest. I was more bulky then mostly muscle. Used to go to the range and truthfully a large crowd would gather, people would say look at that guy.....I was putting them over the back net on the fly 280 metres, no wind assistance usually was a cross wind. Good memories.
These days no where near as long as am slimmer and not as flexible.

I know what you mean about people watching. I've been ask to either hit irons or they would return my money because the range owner was tired of me hitting over the back net.

If you just start hitting everyday only driver for about 2 hours the flexibility will come back and your club head speed should get quicker too. Need to be around 135mph to compete IMO.

It's hell getting old. But here is a couple of swings form last weekend. Getting ready for senior division and "super" senior. If that don't make me feel real old. Can't hit them as far or straight as I did when I was 28 but hopefully enough beat the other old guys.

Holy shit I'm jealous! I've never had one of my shots measured (though I imagine I *just* break 200 yds) but you could never tell with the sudden turn my ball takes everytime...sometimes slice...sometimes hook...always trees lol

What is your longest drive?
Longest in competition is 365yds. At the Remax finals in Mesquite NV.

Longest ever is 425yd a little wind added. Drove the green on a par 4.

Wow some impressive things in this thread

Most impressive to me is Marks triceps, very nice buddy

Ron 425 is absolutly ridiculous

I drove one 320 last week according to the GPS on the course, the more impressive thing was the guy I was playing with, we were in a captain and crew tourney and he told me he had never seen anyone drive the ball that far on this hole and he cannot believe he was going to hit a wedge into the green so that was pretty cool
