Can someone from Chitown help me?

I live in Green Bay and have to travel through Chicago to visit my folks in Indiana. The Bears are playing Detroit and I am leaving on Sunday morning and would like to know when the best time to travel through the city would be. I just don't want to get into too much traffic on the way. Thanks for any help you can give. Thanks

Caddy

There is construction on the Edens expwy right in both directions now for a good stretch. What would normally be a 15 minute trip is closer to 45-60 minutes right now. Avoid that if possible. Good luck

if you hit downtown at or before 9AM it will be smooth sailing because people in the city do not get up that early -- seriously. roads are empty at that hour. by 10 to 10:30, bears fans will be making their way to the game, but traffic should be ok until maybe 10 at the most then it slows bigtime

As an alternate, based on when you hit the outskirts, take the tollroad around the city. But, if you hit downtown after the game begins, shouldn't be a problem

Traffic in northwest Indiana as well. Check online for backups.

Do not try to go through here between 10-12 in my opinion....you will be doing nothing but braking the whole way. Either leave super early or after the game has started.....
