Can you be a college fan of 2 teams ?

although I am not in this category, our local radio sports talk show hosts have this debate here in Omaha.

they have fans that are neb football fans and creighton basketball fans. Bandwagon fans as Creighton is better than neb in hoops, but the hosts go back and forth saying that you cant be a that type of fan.

matters not to me..but some of you that live in or near big cities may also have that dilemma

Sure you can.

Friend of mine is an Auburn grad, and out of college got a job in the Silicon Valley near Palo Alto. He roots for his alma mater (Auburn) and his local team (Stanford). Since the two teams rarely would (or will) play each other, why not root for both? And if he had to choose between them, who should he pick, the school he went to for 4 years, or the place he's lived for 20 (not to mention the team he can go see in person)?

Let's confuse it even more. Suppose he was born and raised in Boston and his dad worked for Boston College, so he was a fan of theirs as a kid. Can he root for all three?

funny thing is, I pull for Buffalo football but don't consider myself "a fan" if that makes sense. Just cool to see them when they do well.

I am a fan of both Michigan and Niagara basketball though, don't really see how I'm ever going to have a conflict of interest there, save for a crazy second round tournament game where they both pull upsets

Yeah, I usually catch myself checking up on Canisus and St. Boni too, would be cool if all 4 area schools made it to 64 or 164 or whatever it is called now!

Are you talking about the Todd and Tyler show by chance, anyhow I don't see how that would be an issue being that it crosses sports AND UNO and Creighton do not have a division 1 football program. I grew up there on 42nd and F. Huskers are my fav team but really miss UNO hockey the most.

I think you can especially when you didnt go to a big time Div 1 school or lived right near one your whole life. I went to a smaller state school and hate Boston College. Therefore always rooted for Notre Dame growing up being Irish in South Boston. When i moved to Chicago I had tons of friends that went to iowa and adopted them as my big 10 team and go to a few games a year out there with GHOOPIN.
