Carlos Delgado Hall of Famer ??

I have been a fan of his for quite a few years and as his career winds down, I am hoping but wondering if he is HOF material

over 2000 hits and he currently has 473 HR's and a .280 BA

Does he need to get to that 500 HR mark ?

No, not even close. I don't think he was ever the best ever at his position although he was a decent player for many years. Also think he is overrated

If he gets to 500 homers, that might be magic number though or is it anymore?

Not even close, he is a decent player, but in no way, shape or form is he a hall of famer.

If Dale Murphy is not a HOFer, Delgado isn't, either.

Murph played in nearly every game in 14 of his seasons, averaging almost 700 plate appearances in those seasons. Led in HRs a couple times, RBIs a couple times, slugging a couple times, won MVP a couple times, a bunch of gold gloves and silver slugger awards, too. Better player compared to other players of his era than Delgado compares to players of his era.
