This site displays ads from the sportsbook industry which creates advertising revenue to help offset some of the costs of running the site.

I personally urge that all sports bettors use due diligence in research when it comes to playing online at any offshore sportsbook.

We do our best to assure that only top rated, respected, legitimate sportsbooks will be promoted. The offshore industry has been going through some turmoil recently which in most probability will continue as we go through 2007.

If you are going to play online or with a local there is going to be some risk.

Make sure you give yourself the best chance possible. Do your homework and pay attention.

I will probably respond to specific posts in other threads at a later date but I will add a general response to something here.

I do not feel it is unethical in any shape of the word to point out today, (the day Pinnacle Sports decided to stop taking action from the US) that Bet Jamaica is our top rated sportsbook and to give people information about signing up with them. I have received emails all day long asking for suggestions so that is what we do. I posted the same.

We offer many contests and promotions from sportsbooks. Bet Jamaica has really gone above the normal as many people will attest to. NO ONE is mandated to play in most of these contests, participate in any of the promotions or take part in this section of the forum. No member has ever been treated differently because they have not signed up with one of our sponsor books.

The sponsors are all top rated books that I feel comfortable recommending.

The moderators are not required to talk good about any book. The moderators are not required to NOT TALK BAD about any book. I assume when one of the moderators speaks on a book, they are speaking from their own experiences.

We all like sports betting or we wouldn't be on Cappers Mall. It is okay to be concerned. Just because one is concerned does not mean there must be panic.

I have seen locals walk away with peoples money on many occassions.

I have seen offshore (bos) walk away with peoples money and many smaller, fly by night books do the same.

This is gambling and their is some risk associated with it. I have never once told anyone to do anything without some research.

I also want to point out that as of now - Pinnacle did not screw anyone (in the sense of a thief). They have inconvenienced a lot of people and obviously there is a lot of debate over what the trickle affect will be. Many people give opinions on this site. They are just that, opinions including mine. Nothing in life is guaranteed but death. At the end of the day we can only do as much research as possible and be as responsible as possible with our decisions.

I sleep well at night knowing that I have integrity and a decent reputation. That speaks louder than any words anyone can say.

I havent commented on one thread today and I wont, but I do know your a standup guy and you would do anything in your power for any cappersmall member, new or old. This is the best sports forum on the net period, and just because of what happened today people are panicking and bashing you, everyone has to make a dollar and put food on the table, your way may bring you some headaches but I certaintly know that you are doing your best and will continue to do so. jack most of us know whats up but i understand the reason for the disclaimer.
like any biz, bills must be paid or the biz folds its that simple. the old saying "caveat emptor" is my take on everything. advertisements are just another way to pay the bills.
If you blame jack for advertising then you got to blame every pro poker player who advertised on a cap some site that caved in to this law also cuz ppl would sign up at sites they see on tv shoot every tv station that had those poker comercials too.

remember we are in this together, and being informed will only work to our best interest.

I did not know about B-Jam until it was here on the site. I have had no problems w/ deposits and withdrawals...just sometimes it is hard to understand them over the phone...for someone like me who travels a lot for work I live on the phone and cannot always get online

Mane being that you were or are a so called bookie i would assume you would have connections to other locals or bigger ups and wouldnt even need offshores?

True, but I like to compare lines amongst locals, BoDog and B_Jam. The locals I know are not "big." If they start losing money they will begin to set limitations on the clients winning. Believe me, these guys are not "Casino" or "Goodfella" types. They run crappy operations and constantly change their cut-off times and are basically a big pain in the butt. You never know what you'll get with them.

One guy will close shop at 12:15 on a Sunday so he causes a lot of guys to rush their picks for the 1:00 games. And then there is the issue of gametime decisions which does not help at 12:15 pm. I do not agree w/ this type of business plan so it is nice to have 2 online books to dump plays off.

I wish I had professional locals to deal with. I am only doing this work until the Super Bowl and then I am going back into retirement.

I agree, you run a great site here and although I don't frequent those kind at lest those are leg.... never mind.

and anyone bashing dr. jack haven't been around long. advertising is how the forum is able to be around, and if you've derived any enjoyment or information leading to winning wagers you should be grateful for the service jack provides. I personally am getting out of online gambling because pinnacle was my main sportsbook for my particular specialty, and hopefully the law changes so this witch hunt, and I believe it will continue, can end.
