Chasing....

Who out of u can honestly say that u never chase ? I don't think there will be many of us ? Please be honest !

In the last few years I can say I have never done it. Being able to see in black and white all my bets each day and how much I'm on here at CM is one of the main reasons I think......

In my early times of sports gambling I did chase abit. Thankfully I'm pleased to say those days are well behind me.

I think there are different kinds of chasing.

I will make a bet late at night based on what happened during the day.

However, I never go above 3 units for any single play, and one of these late night adds will never be above 2 units.

I do stay away from doubling or tripling up my bets late at night to make up for a bad day, which is the bad kind of chasing.

More times than not, I'll add because I've had a good day rather than a bad day.

That is great Up.

How I define chasing is two main ways

1) Betting a game just for the sake of trying to make up earlier losses and not because u like it.

2) Increasing wager size more and more following losses.

I made this thread because I think lots of people do chase. I think its one of the big reasons only a small % of sports gamblers come out ahead at the end of the day.

Stop chasing.

If u are having a losing day and like nothing late just pass tomorrow or the next day is a new day.

Or If u are having a good / great day, don't risk putting yourself in the negative by risking ALL of what u have made, play with a little of the profits or pass all together.

I chase the other way: If I win some early games I'll double up on the late games. Or, if I have a good day I'll follow it up by upping my units the next day.
Basically, the more I win, the more I bet.
If I lose I'll lower my units until I start winning - I'm very streaky as I'm sure most gamblers are.
Although I have been known to drop 10 1 unit plays in a row, then get pissed and put in a 10 unit play - sometimes it hits, sometimes it don't. I try to avoid losing 10 in a row.

I have chased before, but am not anymore. It took about five years, but it's working so far.

I don't chase, I either believe in a bet or I don't. I don't let anything other than my research on a game affect whether I play it or not. You can't let emotion of winning or losing interfere with your wagering.
