Question Cheating in sports

What is your opinion of it in general?

Is there a difference between a guy on the juice compared to the guy who used to throw spitters or the guy who steals signs or the guy who corks his bat, etc?

Why is cheating talked about much more in baseball than other sports? It's naive to think half of the NFL is not on juice. I mean we know the high schools and gyms are full of the roids so why wouldn't the NFL be a bigger story?

Seriously though different forms of cheating have always been around but none has caught fire like the steroid era. Why do you think this is?

Do you think most people feel that way or the exact opposite?

I think people don't talk about football as much b/c there IS no debate...

And for some dumb reason they say "roids won't help you hit a baseball better..." and to that I say BS. It makes a weak ground ball a sharp single through the hole - it makes a lazy fly ball a HR...

And Baseball is a grind. The whole premise of roids and HGH is to heal/regenerate/rebuild the muscle.

I'm sure everyone has cheated once in his/her life time. I myself came close to taking them - trying to somehow get above 90 MPH w my little 6' frame. It's all a matter of what you have to lose. If you don't have much to lose, then you are more likely to cheat.

Cheating is such a dirty word. Call it "Sportsmanship" until you get caught - then maybe it can be called cheating. I admire a guy that can get away with throwing a spit ball, or corking a bat, or whatever - he's sticking it to the man, and I respect that.

Every sport has gone through its share of technical enhancements, be it with the ball, the equipment, the rules of the game, etc. - So what's the big deal about enhancing the athlete himself?

Look at the athletes from the early 20th century. They are far different physically from the athletes of today. Putting the roids aside for now, the advances in dietary sciences and kinesiology are likely the answer.

So, what's the difference? - Diet and exercise makes you faster and stronger. Is that cheating? If an athlete wants to take it to that next level through chemistry, I say let him - we are not talking about real people here. These are professional athletes; completely utilitarian... they are actually part of the equipment!! If the equipment can be enhanced through science, then why not the athlete?

That's just to get people off course by saying that...
What I mean is your muscles will be rebuilt faster and thus be able to catch up to that fastball and hit it harder. No, steroids doesn't improve hand-eye-coordination, but those that don't have that already dont' have to be worried about MLB busting them - Because they aren't in MLB.

yeah, but it you take that stance, what about pitchers that are on it in essence preventing someone from doing it...

so, you can do it as long as you're not any good...

I probably blame roids and HGH for my hating Barry Bonds, but I think I've always hated him anyway.
