College World Series- the last time at the Blatt

Any of you guys been to the CWS before ?

It is truly an event worth seeing.

It's been at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha since like 1950 and now the 'Blatt' is being torn down and the CWS will be played in a new stadium in downtown Omaha.

64 college teams will start the Road to Omaha as pairings come out Monday. Of course, only 8 will make it here and if you have seen the ' dog piles ' when teams do win their final game to earn the trip here, you will see what it means to them.

It's great ball with 100% effort , all the time. That is the difference in this vs mlb.

Most cases its teams from the south that make it here and they bring fans and fans. Some fans , like LSU fans, make it here each year no matter if their team makes it or not.

Most , if not all , games will be sold out. The general admission lines at times line up behind the outfield fences from left field to right field and even double back.

Presidents have thrown out the first pitch here.

Their are about 8-10 indoor and outdoor watering holes within blocks of the stadium for fans not fortunate to get ( or want ) tickets.

A pretty nice zoo is right there too for entertainment outside of the games.

Good baseball, and people watching at its best, believe me ,as it gets warm and humid here that time of year.

Never been but definately want to go someday.

The difference between MLB and College has more to do with Aluminum bats then it does to the effort given. Wish they would switch to wood bats as well which would make most of the games more watchable. My only complaint with college ball is when you have the 18-2 or 18-10 games. Makes them long and not entertaining.

Been to the College World Series many times. Live only 100 miles north of Omaha.

I am very disappointed that they are tearing down Rosenblatt. What a great place to watch College Baseball.

For you guys that have not been there, make it a point to go this year. You will have a great time.

tickets are going to be tough to come by this year

Each year we have one game where we sit in the first row right on the third base dugout about midway between home and third

Believe me, you have to be watching closely EVERY pitch- a late swing by a left hander can get to you so quick you barely have time to duck

I dislike the bats too
