Computer problem, please help.

I was getting error messages when I ran Turbo Tax.

My PC would freeze so I would reboot it, but after like the 4th reboot my Explorer does not seem to be the same. I thought my PC was in "safe mode" but I figured out that it was not after doing a Google on the subject.

Problems:

Once on the Internet, I hardly have color and there are no "buttons." For example, the "post new thread" here was not a button, just the words.

Does anyone know what is wrong?

Sounds like you are low on memory.

the colors are spread out on my PC.....dotted images like a computer from the 80's.....you think it is low memory?

Color is the first to go when you are low on memory.
Try closing all the windows that you don't need.

I haven't rebooted yet. I just got out of settings / add, delete programs.

I wanted to find excess crap that is not needed.

According to my computer, I am using 2.16 GB and 861 MB is free. Should I look to create more space?

i am still having problems

banners and buttons do not even download completely....the colors are way off on my pc

What banners & buttons do you mean?

Banners, buttons and general color on the Internet.

Instead of solid colors (like normal) the colors are spotted, spreadout and 1980's looking.

I've run Adware, Spybot and virus scan.

It could be the monitor pin connection, have to tried making sure that your monitor is connected to the pc and did not come loose? I know this sounds stupid but if it came loose or is plugged in wrong you could get weird colors...
