Computer Trouble

I'm having a problem trying to fix my buddies comp and was wondering if someone would know the answer. His computer is pretty old and it will not read the printer. I need to somehow download Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft office 2003, Let me know if u have any ideas. I tried to download some stuff but I need to find a free way to download office 2003 let me know if u kno of any free sites to download it. Thanks.
