Concert thread

Just thought It wouldn't be a bad Idea to have this. Peeps can give their thoughts/ ratings on concerts they have been to.

Got a couple planned in the next few months, will chime in then.

I've literally been to hundreds of shows over the years. First concert I saw was Fleetwood Mac on the Rumours tour in 1977 (and saw the Doobie Bros. on the Minute by Minute tour like 2 nights later--both at SPAC). Most recent concert was Joe Bonamassa at Capital One Theater in Westbury, LI, two weeks ago. Next show is the Arc Angels (includes Stevie's band, Double Trouble) next month at a club in NYC.

Pretty much have seen everybody at least once--although I never saw Zeppelin . Did get to see Pink Floyd do The Wall at the Nassau Colisseum (1980 ?). Saw Stevie Ray dozens of times--shows with Clapton, Beck, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Steve Winwood, Lonnie Mack, etc...

Some great concert memories--especially of Stevie

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

I enjoy his (Ray Vaughns) Instrumental of little wing. Can you recommend any other instrumentals from him?

Good idea Dave but there's nothing that interests me on the entertainment scene in my city until the Summer. See you guys then with 6-8 concerts on the agenda.

Lenny
Scuttle Buttin'
Riviera Paradise

Those are pure instrumental. So many of his songs have extended jams that they almost qualify as instrumentals (Life Without You, Ain't Gone N Give Up On Love, etc...)

Enjoy 'em Dave. He was the best there ever was

You sound like me except I don't go to many concerts now. But Ive easily been hundreds of concerts over the years. My first concert was Chicago in 1973 in Providence. Ive seen a pretty wide range of everything from Barry Manilow(he was outstanding!) and The Bee gees to KISS(saw them 5 times) and Jethro Tull. Seen REO Speedwagon the most, at least 10-12 times.

My top 5 concerts...

1. Elton John @ Foxboro Stadium, July 4th, 1976. Talk about a PARTY!!!
2. Bruce Springsteen
3. KISS
4. Eagles
5. Van Halen

Never saw KISS, but have seen the others over the years.

Now I tend to go to shows at clubs and other smaller venues. Much more into blues, which doesn't draw the huge crowds. Guys like Lynwood Slim, Kid Ramos, Kim Wilson, etc... THAT is the stuff I am into now.
