I honestly didnt know Merle was still alive...I had seen him about 5 years ago. That was before I really appreciated some old school country.

Man dies who fell from Petersen Center window
Thursday, March 31, 2011

A man who fell through a fourth floor window at the Petersen Events Center on the Pitt campus has died.

Joseph Kimutis, 19, of McDonald, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian after the fall, where he died just after midnight. Pittsburgh police Lt. Dan Herrmann said Mr. Kimutis was attending a Furthur concert.

Lt. Herrmann said that there had been at least one witness who said the man appeared to have gotten into a three-point stance, "like a football player," yelled "Hike!" and charged the window, which he estimated was an inch thick and double-paned.

Toxicology reports are pending.
