In the Crockpot

Venison back straps, thinly sliced, can of cream of celery, can of cream of mushroom, cavenders seasoning. They marinated all nite in worcester and such.
Dump over some egg noodles with skillet cornbread.

This will make you slap your grandma.

Been looking for some new ideas for venison, cook a lot of roast and such in a crock pot with the cream of mushroom soup. How thin do you slice the backstrap?

Any other recommendations, been eating venison forever but am generally lazy when it comes to cooking so simple stuff or crock pot ideas are always welcome!

Cut mine like fajita's kinda of thin 1/8th inch

Might throw a piece of smoked sausage cut up in it too. Hell anything

Cream of Asparagus probably good too.

Anything out of a crock pot is at least dinner, and most likely damn good

slice on large onion into 1/4" slices, in a skillet (pref cast iron to it can be deglazed l8r) melt tbsp of butter on a med heat cook onion 15-20mins uncovered stir occasionaly. After the onions are started marinade 1/2" slices of venison (tenderloin works best in 1/4cup sweet sherry, 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar, a splash or reg soya sauce (kikoman if avail), with a drop or real oystersauce (real not simulated flavour).
When the onion is golden brown with dark brown edges, remove onions but try and leave some of the oil, sear the deer on med high heat for 1 min, flip add salt and pepper
Reduce your heat to med low, re add cooked onions, cover the pan and let cook for 8-12 mins
If the bottom of the pan doesn't look burned you did it right. remove contents of the pan, add another splash of sherry and stir it around the bottom of the empty pan to make a delicious sweet oniony glaze. drizzle over the meat
Serve with roasted root veggies (beet carrot parsnip lot of garlic white turnip butter chopped chunky broiled in the oven at 375 for 30-45 mins), steamed fiddlheads, or spinach...yum
