Question Crooked Cops

Anyone know any crooked cops personally (besides FTW)? A friend of mine (25 year cop) is being accused of stealing or confiscating pot from people he's pulled over or busted for over 20 years

if you are going to go down for something - that doesn't sound so bad

Big Pimpin - how many times you do that?

One of my buddies is a Minneapolis cop

From what he says in private there are a few cops that seems like everyone knows does some shady things. He said even the supervisors seem to know about it

The police unions are very strong and it's very hard to do anything unless someone gets caught red handed doing something

One of my old baseball coaches was a cop. He was shaking people down (mostly illegals) and was caught. Blew his brains out in his garage a month later one of the saddest things I had to deal with as a little kid. There is a whole bunch of 'em here in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs

He said back then it was taken care of internally, cant do that anymore....Al Sharpton would be on the fastest jet made burnin tax payer fuel straight to your town!

Highway patrol was taken in for using meth while working in Sacramento Ca. They arrested him this morning. A friend who was a cop in Southern Cali, got kicked off the force for taking evidence out of lock up. I kept in touch with him but with in about 4 months he disappeared and I have not heard from him since. Several of us talk about what and where he may be. All I know is he was never allowed to work in law enforcement.

No crooked police in my town, our Chief took the bullet for Ronald Reagan and heads the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force. No bullshit happens whatsoever.
I agree with Iggs about Chicago and some of the other suburbs, Cicero & Harvey to name 2.
We do need the National Guard in Chicago to stop the homicides, its only going to get worse as the weather heats up.

At least 6 wounded in city shootings
May 13, 2010 10:54 PM | No Comments
Shootings this afternoon and evening in various parts of Chicago left at least six people injured, including two in critical condition.

Two people were wounded, one critically, when they were shot in the Gresham neighborhood about 4 p.m. on the 8800 block of South Hermitage Avenue, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien.

A 27-year-old man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition after being shot in the chest, and a 17-year-old boy was taken in good condition to Little Company of Mary Hospital after sustaining a graze wound to a knee, according to Larry Langford, a spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department.

According to preliminary information, the two victims were standing on the street when two male gunmen approached and opened fire before fleeing on foot. No one was in custody tonight, and Calumet Area detectives were investigating, according to Police News Affairs.

In another shooting, a man was hospitalized in critical condition after being wounded about 7 p.m. on the 3800 block of West 26th Street in the Little Village neighborhood.

A victim preliminarily identified as an 18-year-old man was shot multiple times, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety. No one was in custody tonight and no other information was available.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. During the investigation 26th Street had been closed off between Central Park and Avers Avenues.

During an apparent drive-by about 5 p.m. in the 2200 block of North Lawler Avenue, an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to Our Lady of the Resurrection Hospital, according to preliminary police information.

The victim was standing on the street when a gray Jeep drove by and an occupant of the vehicle, a male wearing a dark T-shirt, fired one shot, police said. A condition for the victim, who was wounded in the lower right leg, was not available.

On the South Side at 6:40 p.m. an 18-year-old man was shot in the elbow and abdomen, according to police.

He was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital of Cook County. Wentworth Area detectives were investigating but could provide no additional information tonight.

A man in his 20s was shot in the leg about 9:20 p.m. in the 7300 block of South Wolcott Avenue, according to a preliminary notification to Police News Affairs. He was reported in good condition, but there was no hospital information.

Philadelphia cop intentionally shot himself, commissioner says

(CNN) -- A Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, police officer who told authorities he was shot while on patrol last month has admitted he shot himself intentionally, the city's police commissioner said Tuesday.

Sgt. Robert Ralston, 46, confessed to police early Tuesday morning that he made up the story, possibly to a get attention or a transfer, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said in a news conference.

Ralston reported that on April 5 he saw two African-American males arguing on a train track in West Philadelphia. He told investigators that when he stopped the two men for questioning one of them pulled out a gun and shot him in the left shoulder.

His claim sparked a search for a phantom suspect.

Ramsey noted that there were many inconsistencies throughout the month-long investigation.

"The evidence never did match up. We have forensic evidence at the scene that did not match with the story," he said.

One example of inconsistent evidence was that the gunpowder residue found on Ralston's shirt matched the ammunition used by the police department, he said.

The commissioner said that Ralston, who is white, told police his attackers were black because the district where the shooting took place is predominately black.

"It's troubling in a lot of ways," Ramsey said. "It inflames racial tensions in our community, and that's certainly something we don't need."

Ralston, a 21-year veteran of the police force, will be made to pay the cost of the investigation that followed his report, and has been suspended with the intent to dismiss, Ramsey said.

He will not, however, face criminal charges because police granted him immunity to obtain his confession.

Salt Lake City cops are very straight, which it weird considering they don't even have cameras in their cars.

I liked my old Mississippi and New Orleans cops, many of whom I personally knew were (only slightly) crooked, but I preferred it. At least you knew they were being true to themselves, and 9/10 times the perp deserved what (little bit extra) they got. Saw it with my own eyes more than a few times, and still smile when I reflect on it.

Went to a Yankee game with my best man, he grew up in the Bronx

He ran into a cop he knew and the cop asked him if we had tickets, which we didn't so he told us to go to Stan's have a beer and meet him back there in 15 minutes

He shook down a scalper and handed us a pair of box seats on the 3rd base line via handshake free of charge
