Dale Earnhardt Jr

Allright, i know theres a lot of NASCAR haters out there, but i gotta tell ya that Dale Earnhardt Jr has the be one of the friendliest athletes (YES, they ARE ATHLETES) out there. Met him twice this past weekend at Dover International Speedway and he signed a picture i took of him coming down pit road last year, and he signed my pit pass, and posed for a picture w/a friend of mine.
Dale JR!

I think you have to be born or raised on Nascar to be a fan. Maybe I am wrong but it doesn't exactly grow on you.

I do respect it's popularity though

Jack, this isn't born in you. i wasn't a fan until about 6 years ago, and im only 25. went to my first race then, and was an instant hit. its not just cars going in circles, its like preakness (horses go around in circle), but its the atmosphere, partying, etc.

fans are all over from nascar, if you dont think its popular in your area more than likely that you need to look a lil deeper. i suggest going to a race near you and you will get a clearer picture.

Word is that Jr. is going to Joe Gibbs racing and will drop Bud as his sponsor and go with Visa.

I'm with you on that Diddy, I'm 28 and picked up racing as a fan around 7 or 8 years ago. My Dad and I were looking for something to do on Sundays during the summer without football to force bonding this did the trick for us. Local racing is also exciting to me as well. We have a lot of dirt tracks around up in New York and thats where you can find me most Friday nights in the summer. I am a former NASCAR hater turned fan it really does happen
