I am looking to convert some text files into excel to fit my needs. With old company we used Monarch which made it quick and easy.

Anyone know any good free software to use to do this?
Anyone know where I can download a free trial of Monarch?

See some out there but never know which ones to trust.

i guess i would need more detail on what you want to do to give you some ideas.

i personally thought Monrach is a POS, but thats only because we wanted to use it for a true enterprise application and i thad too many crap restrictions (maybe we are talking about different software?)

free software? i guess it depends hat you are trying to do. Shit, excel itself will convert a flat file to a sreadsheet. OpenOffice will too.

I only used Monarch in the past to convert text files from Oracle to Excel files. Pretty entry level stuff.

When I convert from text to excel get the following result:

1st Line:
Date, VoucherNumber, Invoice Number, Ledger
2nd Line:
Empty, Empty, Empty, Ledger
3rd Line:
Empty, Empty, Empty, Ledger
4th Line:
Empty, Empty, Empty, Ledger

Ideally what I want is all lines to look like 1st line. For 1 yr have 171K lines of data.
