Dave, hang in there and prepare for the next aftershock, should there be one. This was an Oblique Trembler, which in laymans terms means, it moved perpindicular and upwards towards the earth's surface, which is way the damage was so major.It also means that another similar type aftershock can pop up any time.

It is going to take a long time to emotionally recover from this quake. You will be reminded of it constantly for weeks to come. While the tragedy in human life is terrible, just remember that you and your family were spared any tragedy. Be thankful and keep that in mind, and you will eventually overcome this disaster. I wish you and your family the best.
