Thumbs up Dirt Cheap Alternative To Blockbuster/Hollywood
I was at my local grocery (Giant Foods) store today earlier. Saw something pretty intriguing. They may have them all across the States now. It is a vending machine that you can rent new releases from.

You can rent a new release DVD for $1/night.

The catch is.. You have to bring it back by 7pm the next day or they hit your credit card for one dollar more, etc....

i'm currently on the netflix free trial for a month. I'm just getting the movies and burning them and sending them back to get more.

Really?? My cousin was telling me all about it.. BUT.. One big drawback he saw.. HE said there were tons of fingerprints/scratches on their DVDs.. Reakky frustrating if you cant watch the darn thing.

I have rented about 10 movies and no problems with any of them.

I like it for when I know the title of a movie. If you want to look around it's tough and not as good as BB.

It's very convenient for me, easy as 1-2-3 and only a buck like you said

I think this idea they have is gonna take off IF they continue to keep a lot of the new releases in stock. Dont know how many movies their kiosks are designed to hold.

I saw the NR were in there quicky but i am not sure how many of each they hold each. At first it seemed like I was the only one using it. the one bad thing is the other day I had to wait for like 2-3 people and it kind of sucked but I guess it's not much different than BB line

i was reading somewhere, about how once you sign up they stop sending you the popular movies so that the newbies get them and sign up....

i did the same thing with the unlimited rental at blockbuster for video games...i was making up to 3 trips on some days...that was over a year ago, i haven't played half the games and really don't use the machine at all...but they're there if i ever wantem'!!!!

so funny how that works. I got about 100 movies dled and rented. Prob watch about 30 of it.
