Do not play frisbee on a windy day
Woman killed by falling tree
POSTED AT 10:42 AM Sunday, August 19 Canmore RCMP are investigating a bizarre incident that left one woman dead. Police say around 6:00 p.m. a woman was playing Frisbee with a small group of people at the Frisbee Park on the north side of the Canmore Nordic Centre. Suddenly a storm blew in with strong winds, which uprooted several trees. During that sudden wind gust a tree blew across a trail and struck the woman killing her. RCMP continue to investigate and the name of the deceased is not being released at the request of the family.
