Do you buy much off E-Bay?

Do you buy much off E-Bay? and does E-Bay have many rival companies?

There is one main one here in NZ (trademe), I use it often.

I`ve bought some things off ebay for my 1986 El Camino and had no problem. Don`t know about rivals, but I`ll check out trademe.

not at all. they are not what they used to be. they screw both buyer and seller. Fees are sky high and they reward the bulk sellers more than individuals. same goes for the buying process.

you want to get good price, probably amazon your best bet.

ebay still good for some really rare stuff, but not for everyday things

I've never bought off ebay but lately been looking at amazon for concert DVDs and prices look pretty good, not to mention free S&H on orders over $39 right to my door. Almost all selections available--what is not available there Chapters Indigo have the others. Right now I special order them through HMV but thinking of stopping this and shop online only.

absolutely agree there....i used to use it a hell of a lot more but the fees are death and i got tired of there being 5000 of the item you're bidding on and someone always feels the need to get into a bidding war anyway which i'm sure is the seller half the time

i basically use amazon and newegg for everything now and i flip through fatwallet to find which sites are offering great deals

Love Ebay... I have bought golf clubs, sunglasses, phones, watches, and a Mac Laptop for a fraction of the costs. Some are probably hot, but WTF...

ebay is the best, hands down.

I build computers for people and I find a lot of deals on regular items I stock for them...keyboards, mice, used computers, etc...

I also love using it get rid of junk from the basement

I find pretty much everything for work on there as well, way cheaper (office supplies, tooling, etc.)

Used to love Ebay. I use it sometimes when I want to get a higher price for tickets. Craigslist is cool but most of the times I can sell tickets for 15-20% higher on Ebay. I agree with zoomer though, Ebay has gone downhill with their policies. Seller can easily get screwed now, it's bs.

use ebay for certain things. they are great for finding collectables at a good price. i just picked up a 1910 seth thomas mantle clock works great for 100$, and a 1894 seth thomas adamantine clock works great for 250$ from the same seller. the guy is a clock repairman and serviced both before sending and everything is all original on them so i am happy.
sports card boxes are cheaper on ebay as well if that is your interest..
