Do you set gambling goals?

Just curious, do any of you guys set goals for how much you want to make in gambling every year? Last year I set a goal of $500/wk ($26k/yr), and I beat my goal, this year I am working on $1000/wk.

How about you guys?

My goals are based on $$ to invest or to buy a business.

In '01 my goal was to max out a roth ira.
In '02 - '03 it was for a down payment on my first home.

Met the goals.

Now it is to buy a strip club or laundry-mat or car wash...if I come up short I will transfer the money to a mutual fund.

$1,000 per week. Nice. I need to follow your posts more.

Gambling should be treated as a business and with all businesses you have budgets and goals to meet and by doing this it makes gambling a little bit easier to deal with. Too many times I see people claiming to go all in, or putting everything I have on it(a certain play) and to these people I shake my head and say no wonder its all you have left because you are running your business into the ground. I can just imagine a CEO of a company sitting there and saying I am going to invest every penny we have on a gamble(fill in the blank depending on the field he is from). If you treat your business like a business the chances of you being one of the 10% who actually win money increases, if you treat it like a game which I see alot of people do then you will guarantee yourself to be one of the 90% who lose money in this business and will be reloading your accounts with cash instead of them sending you money instead.

Budgets, goals, money management are just a few of the tools that is needed to swing the odds of making money more to your side than against you.

My goal is a simple one every year when I start out the New Year, my goal is to make this a part time job so I don't have to deliver pizzas, LOL!!(not that there is anything wrong with that) and my goal is to show a profit of $20000/yr. Along the way I have monthly and weekly goals that I can use to measure whether or not I am on track to meet this yearly goal or whether or not I have to revise my gameplan to get back on track with the yearly goal. If you are going on a long trip to a place you have never been before the chances are so much better than you will get there on time and without many problems if you are using a well detailed map, without one you might get to where you want to go but the chances are you will have got way too lost to really enjoy the destination if you ever do make it.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?
