Do you think Hawaii will ever get a pro sports team?

Is there enough interest there, Is the market big enough? Is the cost and all of the travel required too much of a burden?

Do you think they will get a pro sports team in the next 40 years?

I know there is alot of interest in college football. As far as lets say an NFL team. Not sure if there would be a market for it from the locals. The travel from the USA to Hawaii would be tough and expensive. I wonder if the tourists would support a team? I always thought that Hawaii needs a pro sports team, but I don`t see it happening in the distant future. Or my life time. lol

i doubt that will happen, i live in hawaii and understand sports fans out here and they are very different from the mainland. they will only back a team as long as they are good and when it comes to financially backing that would be even less for the avg fan to back a tm.
the commute for gms would also be crazy we are so far from the continental USA..

I agree with the other posters. Travel expenses make it a very tiugh proposition. Who goes to Hawaii to see a Football or Basketball game? Sure, in the Colleges, the teams love to travel and there are enough wealthy alum to take a vacation and see their team play, but I do not see it on the Pro level.

lol come on guys. You think these franchises would even blink at some travel expenses. I'm sure they would survive if they had to pay a little extra to fly to Hawaii once a season. I would like to see it personally, but agreed prolly wont happen

also...uni of hawaii is in the wac in ncaa...one of the poorest conferences...and those teams make the jaunt to there as well as hawaii going to the mainland...so the costs have no factor whatsoever
