In my honest opinion, if you're going to be betting MLB you better pay attention to the trends because that is one of the streakiest leagues on earth and you have to ride them.

not only MLB, NHL and soccer also... the problem with the most streaks, you don't really know when it's becoming a streak, a slump or just some minor cooler

or like '06-'07 NHL season, when the Sabres were rolling over everything, think it was sth like 9 to 11 road wins in a row right in beginning... or last season with the Wild, a nice start aswell...

trends can be a valuable tool - - you just can't use them as your only method of capping

To try to handicap without using trends is like trying to make a cross country trip using only first gear. Yes, you can make it but the trip would be much easier with all the gears.
