Doc (or anyone else): Couple of questions about Miami
Doc (or anyone else who knows Miami), we have booked a cruise departing from Miami for December of this year. I have put down a deposit for the cruise and have booked the airfares so my next task is to book hotels.
We will arrive in Miami around mid-night the evening before the cruise so I would like to find hotels that are close to the airport. Does anyone know how far it is from the airport to the pier for cruises and what method of transportation is cheapest (shuttle, cabs, public transit ?) In addition, we will stay 1 day in Miami to catch an NFL game Miami vs. San Francisco on December 14. Our flight the morning after starts fairly early so could somebody let me know how far the footbal stadium is from the airport ? I would like to stay at the same airport hotel if possible but if the football stadium is far then I don't mind finding something in the middle. Thanks P.S: Is it a bit early to book hotels on PriceLine ? Ideally, I would like to find something along the line of a 2.5* hotel for about $60/night. |

It will take you around 15 minutes or so from the airport to the port. It's less than 10 miles. A cab ride will cost you around $25
Dolphins stadium is right off the turnpike - so it should be somewhat easy for you to leave the stadium, and get back to a hotel near the airport. I never come from that way but depending on traffic it shouldn't take you more than about 1/2 hour |
