Does anyone use charcoal anymore ?

still like the taste of a burger or steak charcoaled grill but the convenience of the gas grill has won me over.

I still have the ole Weber on my back deck have not used it for probably three years, but I just can't seem to part with it .

My gas grill took a dump 2 weeks ago and I got a Weber.

Much better taste in my opinion.

I also got a Weber charcoal starter. It is the only way to go. Takes about 10 minutes and you get away from the lighter fluid taste.

Chemist Joe Schwartz from McGill university suggests drinking juices high in anti-oxidants (like orange juice, cranberry juice, blueberry juice) when eating charcoal grilled, or smoked foods, as the anti-oxidants will bind with the carcinogens in those foods and pass through your system.

What we need now is a beer high in anti-oxidants.

The only way to cook is with Charcoal, makes the food taste better by a mile.

Always barbeque with kingsford match light. What I do is everytime I get done with a barbeque I clean the grill and the inside real good. One thing I can`t stand is black stuff built up on a grill.

LMAO, you just went against our families tradition. NEVER and I mean NEVER clean out the barbeque. Grill yes but the flavors come from years of cooking. I know now you will never eat at my house. lol

I`m just not into that kind of years of flavor. When I barbeque a steak I want it to taste like a steak. Not years of built up from different meat juices, black crud and probably dead flies. lol If you ever change your mind Steel I`ll be happy to come over for a barbeque if I can clean it before you light the flame.

lol I`m actually from California, but live in Texas for now. It`s interesting on how people are different on there barbequing approach. So far I`m the outsider. The phrase adam & eve was to funny.
