Does Living in a State.....

with no pro teams suck? Like Iowa, Nebraska, dakotas etc. Hawaii only state that gets a pass. Do you just pick any team you want to root for?

its why people in those states are some of the most NUTTY about their college teams.

Mississipi, Arkansas, South Carolina, Alabama..etc.....

WCI hit the nail on the head. This is why college football is so big in these states. The fans have no other teams to cheer for besides saturdays....

yea I know but having a pro team trumps all. There is no college team bigger than a pro team in state/city that have both

Moved from Michigan to Louisville, Ky about 3 years ago for work, totally agree. These people here live and die every Saturday with two college football teams that both suck because they have nothing else to root for. Some are Indy or Cincy fans in the NFL, but they really have no allegiance. When it comes to baseball they root for the local Double or Triple A teams. Nothing wrong with that, but it is nothing like the real deal.

Living in a state with all 4 major teams is leaps and bounds ahead of any college town that doesn't have pros. I may root for the lowly Lions, but I also get the Tigers, Red Wings, and Pistons. Along with a major college program like Michigan or Michigan State, depending on which side you root for.

I would say Notre Dame is the most popular team in Indiana.

Ive been to all the shitty sports teams college and pro here in Nor Cal. I went to a Louisville football game 2 years ago when they were good. Nothing compares to a town that just has college. They are frikin NUTS.

Problem is they are bandwagon football fans here in Louisville. When they were good, the place was packed. Now that they suck, the place is half full if they are lucky. Michigan was terrible in football last year. but there was still 110,000 fans there every Saturday. The atmosphere at a Louisville game here now is a joke.

Now college basketball is another story, these people are pretty much insane when it comes to that.

Yea bu it proves his point, since none of those teams are really in pro sports teams towns at all. All they have is college sports.
