Question Does Weather Effect Your Capping of a Game.....?

and if so, what weather do you hold to a higher regard? For me the biggest thing I look for is wind. Wind hurts the passing game, makes FG range shorter. You can prepare to play in the rain and in the snow, but wind completely changes a game plan.

Getting into the deep fall months I really like to check the wind and how it correlates to the stadium, side to side wind is a bigger factor then up and down for me, it makes the field bigger, good for someone who likes to plays unders. I also like to really check the weather for 2nd halves during this time of the year as the temperature can drop drastically.

Places like Philly, NYG/NYJ, Buffalo, Pitt, have strong swirling winds this time of the year and it gets worse if it's a 4PM EST start time when the sun goes down. It's been 10-20 MPH wind almost every day here. Any of stadiums/teams play in strong winds that I'm missing?

I don't ignore snow or rain, just I feel wind can change how a game is played. Everyone knows when it's going to rain or snow at a game already, totals bottom out because of heavy snow and rain, but sometimes a total won't move due to wind.

Sometimes when I track the weather, I over analyze it and end up over thinking my selection. However, as you mentioned, wind I think is more of a factor then rain or snow, especially for the offensive team. The RB & WRs, will know where they are going, but the defenders don't & thus it can make for a high scoring contes too.

only extreme weather

-slushy field = UNDER & risk of more loss fumbles than usual

-strong winds = tight game decided by a missed FG

-lots of fluffy snow = home fav W esp against southern teams

speaking of wind...K.O. goes 12 yards...BACKWARDS.

Kickoff into 40-mph wind travels backward 12 yards - Prep Rally - High School* - Yahoo! Sports

I consider extreme inclement weather. If the media starts making a big deal about the weather I generally go the other way. For example, I was in Vegas during the Jets/Vikings game. Before the game started it was pouring in New York. The total dropped from 40.5 to 38 if memory serves. Everyone in the sportsbook is unloading on the under, I mean it was so bad the clerks were saying "how much do you want on the under" before you even got to the counter. I wait until 5 minutes before kickoff, walked up and unloaded on the over. The clerk kind of gave me a "shit eating" grin. Now I sweated the 1st 3 quarters as neither team did shit, but when the game ended, I was one of few who was happy. Long story short, weather is a factor, but it can also be overplayed......
