Drive shaft guy

This guy has been on my mind lately I don't know why but here is the story.
Had this guy come in it was awhile back. He had an older Ford pu. He told me that it was his dads and he had passed and left him the truck. He tells me the rear u-joint is loose and he just wants it changed nothing else. So I change just the rear joint just like he asked. He comes back and tells me that he has to drive it before he pays me. Strange but I say ok. He drives it around the block comes back and tells me it was perfect. The bill was less than $50 he gives me $50 and says keep the change you did a good job. About 10 P.M. he pulls up to my house reving his engine there is another vehicle with him. He pounds on my door. I answer and he starts ranting about he wants his drive shaft back. I tell him that it is in the truck. He says no I want "my" drive shaft back. I tell him the truck wouldn't drive without his drive shaft. He tells me that I stole his drive shaft and replaced it with a U.S. Army drive shaft. I am freaking pretty bad by now. I explain again that the shaft in the truck was his. He tells me that him and his brother (the guy in the other car) got their flashlight and got under the truck and it had U.S. stamped on the shaft. I am getting real nervous now. He was reading the U.S. stamp on the u-joint. Where it was made. He tells me I have 24 hours to get his shaft back or him and his brother was coming back with a gun also inherited and shoot me. They never did come back but I seen him several times after driving his truck and he flipped me off every time. This guy has been a plumber for years and functions in society scary huh? Just thought I would share that it has been on my mind lately.

so why did you change his drive shaft?

was the drive shaft not made in the US? i dont understand what his problem was. why did he think it had been switched?

Good God PW
if this guy is on crack or something ( and it almost sounds like it ) , you might need to start packing- no probably not a good idea

you may want to get ahold of the law though as that is obviously a threat

Good luck pal

The guy was definitely delusional. Smelling to much methane gas. LOL
Dealing with people everyday I have had to deal with alot of idiots for sure. Like the guy I put a new engine in his car. He comes back mad as hell. I asked him if something was wrong with the engine. He tells me no it runs perfect but you lost all my radio presets. I want them back just like they were. I tell him I didn't memorize all his stations but I would put them back if he would tell me what they were. He just told me fuk you and left. I love my job.

kind of off topic but why the hell do car manufacturers design the car so that when the gas cap malfunctions you have to run diagnostic on it? Just paid $120 for diagnostics today to tell me the light is on due to gas cap.

Think next time will just buy a new gas cap for $20 and go from there.
