Driver Help!!!!

I'm finally breaking down and buying a driver today. My choices are between the following two drivers. Let me know which one you recommend:

2008 Taylor Made Burner (10 degrees)

2008 Nike Sumo (10 degrees)

--I have a slow swing right now, but I'm working on a faster swing and keeping my arms extended all the way through.

Thanks guys.

Have a pro or a certified club fitter make sure the shaft is right for your swing speed.
It does not matter what club you get if the shaft is not the right flex.

why u limiting to these 2?? a tip to help keep arms extended...take your stance without club. now cross your hands and put back of left hand against back of right hand(extended like club was in your hand). take a backswing and you will feel your left arm staying extended and using more shoulder turn.

I never thought of that. Thanks.

I have a slower swing now because it is the only way I can keep my arms properly extended. The ball does dead center, but SHORT. I mean 150 max. I'm starting to speed the swing up and want something to compliment it.

Thanks again Ron.

There are five generally used ratings for shaft flex: Extra Stiff, Stiff, Regular, Senior and Ladies, usually denoted by the letters X, S, R, A and L ("A" is used for Senior because this flex was originally called "amateur").

From what you have said you will probably be a R or A.

I'd probably say R. I could whip it around when I want, BUT I HATE MY FAR RIGHT SLICE.

Thanks again.

If Your Flex Is Too Stiff

What effect does a too-stiff shaft have on your golf game?

1. The ball will probably fly lower and shorter for any given loft, compared to a properly fit shaft.

2. The ball may tend to go to the right, or fade side, for right-handed golfers because with a too-stiff shaft the clubface is harder to square (the clubface is more likely to be open at impact, in other words).

3. The shot may feel less solid, more like a mis-hit even if you make contact on the center of the clubface.

if you're ever in Chicago, let me know. i could use the golf lessen.

i'll be sure to stay away from a shaft that is too stiff. i need the square the club up easier and hit center cut.
