DVD Burning Problem??!?!

Ok, so I'm not new to burning cds and movies, and I have used my vaio to burn all of it........I used divx or windows media player to do it. Now all of a sudden the burn initializes and then pops out after about 10 seconds and says burn complete but it is obviously not. Is my dvd burner done for or am I just doing something wrong? Ive done some searching and this seems to be a common problem that can be fixed? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance folks

Make sure that you have enough free hard drive space to handle whatever temp files are produced by the attempted burn.

DaveyDave, thanks man. I actually went to Best Buy and was told that I burned out my laser on my burner and needed to buy a new one. Bought a Pioneer burner for 75 bucks brought it home and tried what you said and I went on a delete spree and cleared up some space, tried it with the current one and boom, let the burning continue. Went back to best buy and got my money back. Thanks brudda

make sure you have about 10 gigs of free space if u are burning a dvd

if its a blu-ray or dual layer you may need 20 gigs
