Eddie Van Halen better than Jimmy Hendricks ?

I think Hendricks was great but over-rated.
I also think Eddie Van Halen and some others, are better than him?
Opinions please...

Satriani, Steve Vai and Malmsteen would own Van Halen. Hahaha not saying Van Halen is bad but there are a lot of great guitarists. Got to give a heads up to Jimmy Page though for being one of the founding fathers of heavy metal.

Herman Li from Dragonforce is definitely someone i admire as well.

all of them are unorthodox. Their styles are contrasting. Check them all out.

Hendrix played a right handed guitar upside down. That's enough to make u go

Every genre has a guitarist that would wow you. Dave Matthews believe it or not IMO is one of the better classic guitarists.

SRV, definitely deserves to be mentioned. I forgot how old one of his guitars is, i'm pretty sure he still plays with one that is well over 20 years old.

Dave Matthews is definatley multi-talented..SRV is fine !
I like Hendricks a bunch, don't get me wrong on that. Just saying he seems to get to much attention today with all the great players. For his time he was the master, but he has been gone along time now.

To make a guitar left handed you just re-string it the other way.

Do you mean at some stage he played left handed with the strings set to a right handed grip?

No way Van Halen better that Hendrix.

Tough to say "better" when Stevie spent his entire career preaching Hendricks' style.

Trivia question:

Name the three legitimate contenders for all time best rock 'n roll guitartist who all played in the same band at one time or another and, name that band.
