Egyptian protests...

As an Egyptian, I just wanted to write that I am so proud of my fellow countrymen! I wish I could be there!

Can't wait for $5 gas, higher food prices, and rising unemployment in the US. Yay.

My wife is Egyptian and called me asking for a phone card.

My reply was why arent they calling you using the magic jack? Well I guess they have shut off all internet & cell phone communication to try and quell the uprising.

Looks like that isn't going to work and the uprising will continue which is a positive as long as everyone can stay safe.

Bottom line is Hosni Mubarak is a piece of crap dictator and obviously the people have had enough. Hes a United States ally in the sense that he made a deal with Israel for foreign aid to the tune of a few billion per year all the while his people are starving.

While I don't care for his politics or any politics in the region to be honest with you this story hits home for me at a different level for the safety of my family members.

Hopefully this joker and his cronies get ousted peacefully but I am sure this will have some other political repercussions in the region.

The U.S. needs to break with Mubarak now

This story pretty accurately depicts the gist of it.

Its my in laws and they are under curfews so there is no real danger at the moment but its pretty volatile.

Its just the population has had enough of this guys BS government and finally quelled up as one where they could actually do something about it.

Egyptians seemed to have been motivated by the Tunisians who recently overthrew their leader.......I am all for these things as long as they are done the right way with minimal violence.

Very interested to see how the dominoes start falling in the region personally.

Sharm el-sheikh is a very hot tourist spot and somewhere I would love to go someday but my wife went to visit her family at the end of the Summer and her family wanted me to go and I had no interest in going either for multiple reasons.

Very close to the pyramids on the outskirts of Cairo. I am not very familiar with it though to be honest......last time I was in Egypt was when I was 4 with my mother and I dont recall anything.
