The elephant in the room

An important and obvious topic, which everyone present is aware of, but which isn't discussed, as such discussion is considered to be uncomfortable.

The Emperor's New Clothes

a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen about an emperor who pays a lot of money for some new magic clothes which can only be seen by wise people.

The clothes do not really exist, but the emperor does not admit he cannot see them, because he does not want to seem stupid.

Everyone else pretends to see the clothes too, until a child shouts, "The Emperor has no clothes on!"

The title is often used to describe a situation in which people are afraid to criticize something because everyone else seems to think it is good or important.

Lol Joe you need to start posting on the Word Association thread again now that it's in the safe forum.

kid....not trying to bust your balls or start anything in anyway, just wanted to point out that this is the first post you've made outside of the word association or guess next poster threads since 12/20 and only the 2nd since 12/10

i know you love the thread and have fought to the death to keep it while saying people here are afraid of words, but in reality you went from being a guy who had some potential as a sports related poster to basically being non-existent

it's certainly your choice and you can do what you want, just think you're better than that imo
