THE ART AND SCIENCE OF PICKING GOLF WINNERS
1. CLOSER with CHARACTER. Certain guys see the finish line and cross it and others are destined for second place.
2. RELAXED CONFIDENCE, FOCUS and a HUNGER to win. It's a mental game and their mind has to be in the right frame with a determination and focus. As Harry Vardon said: "To play well you must feel tranquil and at peace. I have never been troubled by nerves in golf because I felt I had nothing to lose and everything to gain."
3. COURSE. Does the course layout favor the strengths of the golfer and does it expose their weaknesses. Previous form can change immediately for those who feel comfortable on a course and its greens.

i always wondered if one could watch for which floor that you're passing on the way down and jump as high as you could just before you hit the bottom if you might actually minimize the damages you'd suffer...

Keep in mind, you couldn't jump upward fast enough to match the rate of free-fall acceleration, especially after a fall of 3 floors, your force would still be travelling downwards with relation to the building.

very smart post, and i agree, but given the physics of it, i think the question is if it would HELP at all ... would be an interesting experiment

It would help to a small degree, but the real factor is the height of the fall. You would be moving up with relation to the elevator, but still down with relation to the building. The higher the fall, the worse the damage as you would be travelling downwards closer to terminal velocity providing there is no braking system at all in the elevator. However, if Grizz is loaded on Malibu at the time, it's all good.

LMAO Davydave!

i'ma gonna stand in the corner, then jump up just b4 it hits then land with less impact and do a roll to minimize the damage if it eva happens to me...

hopefully the malibu (which is about 50% of me bodyweight) will absorb the rest...
