Talking Expert cappersmall chefs - healthy cooking

Been eating a ton of asparagus lately. Used to hate it but now I love it & trying to eat a little healthier.

What's best way to cook asparagus & give me your best healthy recipe meal if you got one

Not that heart attack stuff like falcon freak serves

I usually eat asparagus once a week, love it!!! Some other veggies that are staples for me are mushrooms, broccoli, brussel sprouts & avocados (can't steam those though)

I've been eating it like 4-5 times a week lately. I hate mushrooms, brussel sprouts, avocado & most veggies. I can make myself eat broccoli & occasionally eat carrots & corn (I know not real veggie)

I need other good stuff

On another note, a buddy of mine got me some incredible lobster tails so ate good tonight. Been eating nothing but chicken so needed the change up

I roast them in the toaster oven with some olive oil, salt, balsalmic vinegar and some bread crumbs...and then wrap them up in some proscuitto slices. Leave out the prosciutto if you are trying to be healthy as it is high in salt.

Sounds good I'll try it without the prosciutto

You can also marinate the asparagus overnight in italian dressing, I would throw the asparagus into a bag then put the dressing in it and mix it up, then grill it, I love using the grill.

roast them like someone suggested or saute them in olive oil, salt and pepper

steaming them is probably my least favorite preparation. so bland. asparagus needs that carmelization to taste good.

There's nothing quite like a whiff of asparagus pee. Reminds me of spring.
