Facts for Mar 1st
Jumping into the air before a plummeting elevator hits the ground will not ensure survival. Rather, the jump might delay the inevitable, but will not affect the final and fatal outcome. If the jump is perfectly timed, it is possible to reduce your speed of impact by as much as 8 km/h.

About 90% of the world's active volcanoes aer located along the Pacific Ocean, named the "ring of fire."

Or make sure that the elevator has harnesses so that the rider can be strapped to the sides of the car.
