Question Fantasy football - is the day of only picking running backs in first round over?

With most teams using multiple backs - does that change your strategy?

How about the lockout and shorter offseason mini camps, will that influence your strategy?

What it does is make a couple backs very valuable in the 1st round because they do get all the carries, but the days of 8 rbs going in the top 10 are gone. Top Rbs like AP, etc still are the top picks.

I think that I have told you this before Dr. Jay, but i have not selected a RB in the first two rounds in any of my drafts the last 3 years and have been doing really really well (all top 3 finishes). It is all about Wide Receivers.

As a matter of fact, last year I selected 3 WR's (andre johnson, greg jennings, larry fitz) with my first three picks in a 12 team league. Reason being you can find boom or bust talent easily... Last year we loaded up on RB's.... Foster in Round 4, McFadden in Round 5 then added about 4 more boom or busts.

Then we got Vick in Free Agency. I think there is soo much, and I mean soo much value in WRs... There is less point deviation in QB's and RBs and when a WR gets hurt, your ****ed. Its not like a WR can come in and do amazing unless they have Peyton Manning throwing to them.

To me, and I will continue to campaign this. Take WRs early.... Get Andre Johnson, Roddy White, Jennings, ect... boom or bust the rest of the way.

Yep. Last year AP and CJ were the top 2 picks. CJ was a bust for that early of a pick. AP was avearge at best. Too many teams going RB by committee and the league has gone to an aerial attack.
