Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal?
Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

Apocalypse Now!

Black Hawk Down

Saving Private Ryan

Full Metal Jacket

U-571

Battle Of Britain

Downfall

Stalingrad

When Trumpets Fade

Valkyrie

Tunnel Rats

Windtalkers

Sniper

Enemy At The Gates

We Were Soldiers

Uncommon Valor

Escape From Sobibor

Das Boot

The Hurt Locker

Patriot

The Lost Battalion

A Midnight Clear

Battle Of The Bulge

Stalag 17

Schindler's List

The Dirty Dozen

Cross Of Iron

Miracle At St. Anna

Platoon

Navy Seals

Kelly's Heroes

Enigma

Hamburger Hill

Andersonville

In all there are close to 1,000 War Movies released. The ones listed I've watched more than once. There are many more that I enjoy such as The Train (1964) in Black & White. These oldies used real war footage as well. Best of all the two locomotive head-on crash was real--no computerized shit involved. It was the real McCoy.

I could list others but they don't qualify nearly as 7/10 or more as above.

I also tried to keep the Action Movies such as Missing In Action 1, 2, 3 out of the list.

Now there is a list

While not a hardcore "war movie" I would have to add The Great Escape.

Gettysburg also a fav of mine

Luke, no to hijack the thread but did you ever see my response to your questions about Zevon? If yes, what did you think--reply in the "Best opening lines" thread if relevant

deer hunter-portions filmed in Penna

Glory--while I liked the movie, thought there was too much creative license taken to create a story which wasnt true to the historical records. Still a good flick with a stiry which needed to be told.
