The first ever concert in the new Gopher stadium is ......

First concert scheduled for the Gophers outdoor stadium

is

U2 on June 27th.

I know Jack is already probably booking plane fare up here to catch it.

Will be cool to have a venue to watch big outdoor concerts though

These outdoor Stadiums are too big to my liking. You can def hear the music and see the light show somewhat. Aside from that they need Large Video Screens to cater to this size of audience. I'll pass every time no matter who. 20 years ago may have been a diff thought. Enjoy the show if u can--but it's more like a "I was there" thingy or for the atmosphere if anyone craves for that.

i agree...i saw monsters of rock at rice stadium in 1988...and fricking shit sucked...also saw rolling stones at the astrodome in 1989...it was better than rice stadium, but still sucked....i prefer small venues
