Who here thinks sports games are fixed? Seems like a lot of people cry "fixed" when they lose, but you never hear that when someone wins? I played professional sports(baseball), and I can say one thing for sure, noone ever approached me,or anyone else I played with to discuss making money by fixing games. I'm a believer that no games are fixed! If any are, then it is a very very chosen few, and not ongoing. YOUR THOUGHTS?

If you have ever read my posts, you will see that I NEVER cheer when I win, and I NEVER cry when I lose.

Some games are just more obvious that the "FIX" is in than others. I have won games where I felt the outcome was fixed, and I have lost games where I felt the outcome was fixed.

Others may cry FIX when they lose, but not me. I cry FIX when something odd happens in a game, win lose or draw.

If you have never been approached to FIX a game, it is a good and bad thing, but don't take it personally.

1) You may not have been approached because they feel that you are a upstanding citizen and would never take part in such a scheme, therefore, you may "blow the whistle" on them. Predators pray on the weak, people who are desperate. Perhaps you have no skeletons in your closet that they can exploit.

2) You may not be in a position to fix a game, as you may not be the "go to" guy in a crucial game situation. They would not bother recruiting a guy who is a bench warmer.

You posted you will play any game automatically where the pub is 70% on the other sides. If you dont think games are fixed what are your reasons on playing anti-public?

been around some of the games best, that I have very good open communication lines with, and never heard an inkling to a thought of a game being fixed. Never even got into it in all alone private conversations over a drink, even as a thought, it is the betting public that thinks games are fixed, just as many odd things happen in high school games, little league games,middle school games, but when games are bet on, and odd things happen, it is always the first thought, be it true or untrue. It is like UFO'S someone sees something they can't explain, and it becomes a UFO, be it true or untrue, someone sees something odd in a game, and it becomes fixed, true or untrue. I just think because every game in every sport has many cameras on it, sure would be very difficult to get away with consistently, and just like steroids, it would come out sooner or later.

and your right about one thing, I would have been the wrong guy to approach, because there is zero chance I would have gone along at any price!

This is my opinion on fixes in the NFL.There are no fixes by the players at all.There is no way they could change the outcome at all.How could they?Now for the NFL itself.The refs totally can change the outcome of a game and do.Is it for gambling reasons?I doubt it.They are given a watch for list before each game by the NFL.The refs go way overboard on what they are supposed to watch for.In turn that does favor one team over another.So indirectly the NFL is pointing the refs the direction that they want.Take the Indy/Pitt game for example.Indy was getting totally out played but only lost by a missed fg.Why were they even that close?The refs made it that close by some very questionable calls.The NFL made no bones about wanting Indy in the AFC chapionship game.There was more people that wanted to see Indy/Denver or Indy/NE than Denver/Pitt.Same with the superbowl.Way more people wanted Pitt to win.I think the NFL sways the outcome (NOT FIX) for thier monitary gain.Now do the Bookmakers know this inside info?I believe they do how else would they have the edge?The house always has the edge.

And you said you played professional ball...did the games you play in have lines in vegas? Not EVERYBODY that play sports will be approached. If you played on a major league team I can see it but if its triple A or a lesser known league noone will approach you if people arent gonna gamble on the games.

Because the overwhelming majority loses when gambling on a game reaches 70%+ simply because the public loves heavy chalk, or road chalk, even though the lines are constantly over adjusted that way. Go to wagerline, and look at the highest %age games from the bottom. Every day they are all road favorites, no exception! WHY? (see above). The public doesn't bet with knowledge, it bets with comfort!!! I've always said give me the team that makes me get a knot in my stomach, just playing them, and I know I'm on the better side of 50-50. Give me the comfort of that high scoring star laden chalk, and I'm in trouble.

So there are road chalks or chalks in every game. Why is it just the games the majority of the public is on that loses? Coincidental?

Also played D-1 baseball and played in some games that were lined. I also played at a major university, and my friends,roommates, and dorm-mates, and last year house-mates, played in all lined games, noone was ever approached, not once. I also played with kids from every major university in the country, that played QB at top 10 schools, running back, or were friends with those that were. Noone was ever approached, ever! Can I say with 100% certainty noone is ever approached? Of course not! I'm sure it occurs, but I'll guarantee you it is much less than most would believe, if at all.
