I believe it was JOE D., AKA TDS, who says, if you don't believe in fixes, you shouldn't be gambling

definately... i stopped all NBA gambling because of that

I had the Clippers under a few years back.... I had a 4 point cushin in a blowout game with like 12 seconds left

Q Richardson hits a 3 to pull the Clips within 15 with like 8 seconds to go... other team drives down the court for no reason and hits a bucket... I lose by 1

Why would you hit a bucket up by 15 with 8 seconds left???

oh and that Heat/Suns game, i know many people had to sweat that total Over out even though there was like close to over 70+ points in the 1st Q. My first game of the year Boston Vs NY i had the Under. Paul Pierce at the FT Boston up by 1, he makes one out of two so they are up 2 with under 3 seconds left, Marbury ties it and goes to OT and my under loses. What the hell. Oh and again just a few days ago. Had Dallas/Boston Under Dallas up 102-99 that fool Pierce does it again hits a 3 with about 1 second to go to tie that freaking game.

Do you watch basketball? EVERY NIGHT that happens. But you lose a bet on it so that makes it fixed. Unreal

An example was the Minnesota game the other night vs. Washington. With just seconds left Minny takes a three pointer and get the cover. Fortunatley I was on Minny for that "FIX".

It is very easy in any sport, but especially the NBA to "FIX" a game.

Ok look guys. It is called EVIDENCE. You losing a bet on a game on some wierd shit that happens on a nightly or weekly basis is not evidence. Dwayne Wade (who makes like 8 million a year) missing a free throw, which statistically he will do 26% of the time is not evidence of a fix.

Its the NBA. The spread is USUALLY decided in the last 2 min on a team deciding if they are going to foul to try to stay in it and then free throws. So explain to me again how any of this is proof of fixes?

Again, we are gamblers. We have all lost wierd close games hundreds of times. Let me tell you about fixed games....THEY ARE NEVER FREAKING CLOSE!!! If I have a fix to lose by more than 2 ATS why would I even let it come down to the last minute? Im down by 13 at the half, easy. Those are the games you should be looking at. Teams getting blown out and not showing up from the jump....there is where your conspiracy is. The close games are the LEAST likely to be fixed.

Blaze you are wrong, fixes are the close ones...you wont find evidence, so you just arent a believer. Talk to a real "insider" and you would know. Id figure living in Scottsdale you run into people who will tell you stories about Phil Mikelson

That all depends. Players wouldn't FIX a game for themselves, they make to much $$$. But they can FIX it for a buddy of theirs.
I've been doing this way to long and have been on both sides of a FIX.

I watched a Golden State team two years ago steam rolling Toronto at home and then in the fourth they score only two pts. Toronto covers the number. That game had FIX allover it.

That's the problem Roman. Most of you have bet too many, so now you think they are fixed. Read my post above, the close games are not the ones, so the logic is totally bakcwards.

I work with a guy from Boston who was involved and caught in the BC point shaving scandal in the early 80's. He talks very little about it (obviously)but syas the games could barely be controled like that. Just impossible unless the most of the players who get minutes are in on it. Now tell me how your going to pay off 8 guys averaging 5 million a year to throw a game? I can't hear you guys, how was that?

Again, its sports. Wierd things happen. Put this thread in College Ball and lets ahve a discussion.
