BIG WINTER STORM MAY IMPACT SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY...

.A STRONG WINTER STORM WILL TRACK ACROSS THE OHIO VALLEY TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY. THE PASSAGE OF THIS SYSTEM JUST TO OUR SOUTH WILL SPREAD SNOW... POTENTIALLY HEAVY... INTO SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON WITH SNOW CONTINUING INTO WEDNESDAY. IT APPEARS ALL OF SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN MAY RECEIVE HEAVY SNOW FROM THIS STORM SYSTEM. SNOWFALL TOTALS OF 8 TO 15 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE... WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS. GUSTY WINDS WILL ALSO DEVELOP TUESDAY EVENING AND CONTINUE INTO WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON... LEADING TO AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AND CREATING PERIODS OF NEAR-BLIZZARD CONDITIONS. THERE IS ALSO A CHANCE THAT SLEET OR FREEZING RAIN WILL MIX IN WITH THE SNOW NEAR THE OHIO BORDER LATE TUESDAY NIGHT.

THERE REMAINS A HIGH LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE WITH A LARGE HIGH-IMPACT STORM AFFECTING THE SOUTHERN GREAT LAKES REGION LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY. HOWEVER... FURTHER ADJUSTMENTS TO THE EXACT TRACK THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL TAKE AND WHERE THE SWATH OF HEAVIEST SNOW WILL BE MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO THE FORECAST... ESPECIALLY SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS... STILL POSSIBLE. THOSE RESIDING IN OR PLANNING TRAVEL TO THE AREA SHOULD MONITOR THE FORECAST CLOSELY FOR UPDATES CONCERNING THIS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS WINTER STORM.

Winter storm watch for
City of Hamilton issued

..Major winter snowstorm Tuesday night and Wednesday..

A major winter storm is developing over Texas and will track towards Southern Ontario Tuesday. The low is expected to track just south of the lower lakes Wednesday.

Light snow will begin in advance of this system tonight and Tuesday. However the heavier snow is forecast to begin Tuesday night and continue Wednesday morning. Potential widespread snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm are likely before the snow tapers off Wednesday afternoon.

In addition strong and gusty east winds will develop with the snow. This will cause local whiteout conditions in blowing snow. The east winds will also generate local snow squalls off Lake Ontario in advance of the main snow area which will give enhanced snow amounts to regions near the west end of Lake Ontario.

This will be the first Major winter storm of the season for the Toronto area, and the most significant storm of the season for many regions outside the traditional snow belts. The heavy snowfall and blowing snow will cause whiteout conditions making for extremely hazardous driving conditions. The public should be prepared to change plans accordingly to avoid travel during the storm. This storm has the potential to create near-paralyzing conditions.

A multi-day, multi-region potentially historic and destructive winter storm will unleash its fury beginning Monday and will last through Wednesday.

When everything is said and done, the storm may very well impact a third of the population of the United States; approximately 100 million people.

Its reach will be felt from the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies to the Ohio Valley to the coast of New England.

Accompanied with the winter storm will be a severe thunderstorm threat across the South capable of producing damaging winds, hail and a few tornadoes.

Our Midwest storm coverage will be categorized into the four factors: heavy snow, destructive ice, tornadoes and bitter cold.

PEACE

50-55 BELOW this morning back home (-30 + wind chill).

This winter reminds me of winters when I was a kid.

They got 5 more inches of snow to break the record...and its just January. Record was 70", at 71.5" for this winter.

Jesus...

And to top it off, Mom had a stroke Saturday and is in the hospital. I'm 350 miles away and the roads are blocked up there. Hope to go up tomorrow if the wind stops and they get the roads open.

i made the mistake of stopping at the store on the way home from the gym to pick up a few things, place was crushed, took 15 mins to get through the express line

meanwhile they're talking like 1-3, guess the ice could be shitty but old people are jackasses, acting like every snowflake is the one that snows us in forever
